9th Workshop on Power Line Communications

Power Line Communications Enabling the Smart Grid

21-22 September 2015 - Klagenfurt - Austria

The 9th Workshop on PLC (WSPLC 15) will be held in Klagenfurt - Austria on 21-22 September 2015. The workshop covers relevant topics in power line communications with emphasis to PLC in the context of smart grid and smart metering.

WSPLC 15 is supported by the IEEE Technical Committe on PLC (TC-PLC) and by the IEEE ISPLC Steering Committe.

WSPLC 15 will bring together academia and industry professionals as well as students and researchers to present and discuss ongoing work on existing and future power line communication (PLC) systems, PLC applications, PLC standardization activities with emphasis, but not limited, to:

  • PLC for smart grids
  • PLC for smart meetering
  • PLC standards
  • PLC requirements, coexistence, interoperability
  • Test and characterization
  • Physical layer aspects
  • MAC and network layer aspects
  • Measurements and modeling
  • Hardware implementations
  • Narrow band, broad band and ultra wide band PLC systems
  • PLC applications: distribution grid, in-home, in-vehicle, industrial

Contributions from related fields, as for instance wireless, that explain analogies/differences with PLC and stimulate cross-fertilization, are also welcome.

The workshop will feature a number of talks from renowed experts. The programme is available.
